How much will it cost?

Our fees & funding

As a private Montessori pre-school, we are delighted to welcome families accessing Government-funded early education hours. These funded hours cover the basic early education entitlement provided by the Government.

At The de Lacey Montessori School, we provide a far richer educational experience than this funding alone covers. To maintain our exceptional standards and to include the full breadth of our curriculum, we apply a Montessori Education & Enrichment Supplement to funded sessions.

This supplement enables us to offer everything that defines our school — small group sizes, high staff ratios, freshly prepared meals, and our specialist activities such as yoga, cookery, forest school, drama, and one-to-one Montessori teaching. Please see below for more information.

Fees are invoiced monthly in advance and are payable in full, regardless of absence for sickness, holidays, or other reasons.

We open during school term times only for children aged 18 months and above. During school holidays, families are warmly invited to join our Holiday Club at our sister setting, The de Lacey Osterley Day Nursery.

Early Drop Off

We offer an Early Drop Off service from 8.45am for all of our children who need it. They will learn by helping us to set up the school and choose and prepare activities for their friends with the teachers. You can pre-book this as part of your usual package, or just turn up each day. The cost of this service is £4 per day.

Core Hours (9.30am - 3.30pm)

From the term after they turn three years of age, all children are eligible to claim 15 hours of government funding. The children of working families will be eligible for 30 hours of government funding from 9 months of age. At The de Lacey Montessori School we are pleased to be able to offer you access to these funding schemes with a Montessori Education and Enrichment Supplement, more information on which can be found below (please see below for information on opting out of the Montessori Education and Enrichment Supplement). We offer a minimum of 15 hours attendance per week.

This is our weekly fee and/or Montessori Education and Enrichment Supplement, depending on the funding you receive. You will be invoiced annually, multiplying the weekly figure by the number of weeks in that term.  This termly figure can then be paid in a lump sum or monthly, using the payment options outlined below.

For other attendance patterns, such as three or four full days, please use the weekly rate and multiply accordingly. Please just ask us for an exact quote based on your requirements.  There is a small premium for part time places.

You can find out what funding you might be eligible for, and apply, at beststartinlife.gov.uk Please note that it is your responsibility to renew your eligibility every three months.

You may wish to ‘opt out’ of paying our Montessori Education and Enrichment Supplement, please contact us straight away if you are considering this option.  Please CLEARLY state that you are applying for a fully funded place when you apply to us.  Charges for food will still apply as unfortunately we are unable to accommodate food brought in from home.  Please ask us for a specific quote or more information.  You will only pay full fees for hours that your child attends nursery over their funding entitlement hours.  Funded hours attract an ‘additional services charge’.

Ways to pay

You can pay in a termly lump sum should you so wish.

You can pay using our monthly direct debit scheme, payable on the 1st of each month.

You can also pay using ‘Tax Free Childcare’, a government scheme whereby you can save up to 20% or £2,000 of your childcare costs. You can find out more and apply at www.childcarechoicesgov.uk

You can pay using Childcare Vouchers through your employer (this scheme is being phased out and is being replaced by Tax Free Childcare).

You are of course welcome to pay using a combination of the above to suit you.

All fees are always payable in advance.

Our Montessori Education & Enrichment Supplement reflects the distinctive quality and breadth of the education we provide. This supplement also includes our extended enrichment programme, featuring yoga, cookery, forest school, celebration events and drama, all delivered by experienced practitioners who share our commitment to excellence. Every element is designed to ensure your child’s early education is calm, joyful, and deeply purposeful — the way Montessori intended.

De Lacey have been instrumental in the development of my daughter. I have found every single staff member dedicated to the work they do with the children. Everything within the nursery is so well thought out. The Key workers have always consulted me regularly and given me direction in how I can best support my daughter. The nursery includes ALL the family in social functions which gives a great sense of togetherness, which is especially important for us as a family. It doesn’t feel like a nursery but more like one big family and the children are cared for accordingly. They are even great at supporting parents like myself through transitions and a change in family circumstances. For example, when we had another baby, they supported my daughter alongside us. And also, when we had a family bereavement, the staff not only gave the care to my daughter but also us as a couple. This is a great place to send any child as they truly recognise how to get the best from each child and celebrate them.
